Continue the journey

Day 1
Learn to correctly practice puppy dog, a modification for downward facing dog.
Day 2
Breakdown and learn to practice down dog. After that, be sure to check out another beginner online yoga class by Melanie.
Day 3
Break down and learn to practice warrior 2 and extended side angle pose. Recommended props: 2 blocks
Day 4
Learn to correctly practice triangle pose. Recommended props: 2 blocks
Day 5
Break down and learn to practice warrior 1.
Day 6
Learn how to do a full vinyasa including: downward facing dog, updog, plank, and chaturanga. Recommended props: 1 strap
Day 7
Learn the basics of sun salute B.
Day
In this simple sequence of supported poses you will quiet your mind, refresh your spirit and restore your body. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 2 blankets, 1 bolster
Day 1
Learn to link sun salute A and B together.
Day 2
Break down and practice three kinds of standing forward bends. Recommended props: 2 blocks
Day 3
Break down and practice twisting postures. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 blanket
Day 4
Break down bridge pose and locust pose. When you're ready, try Melanie's Meet Forward Bends online yoga class. Recommended props: 1 block
Day 5
Learn to safely come up into headstand. Recommended props: 1 block, 1 blanket
Day 6
Brand new to yoga? This sequence is designed to fit into your busiest days so that you can start to feel the benefits of a yoga practice no matter what your schedule is. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 strap
Day 7
Moves slowly and keep things simple. When you're ready, try Melanie's Fit Beginners online yoga class. Recommended props: 2 blocks, 1 blanket, 1 strap

I am 80 years old. I did a lot of yoga when I was younger and loved it. I am innately flexible and limber but since I have not done Yoga or much exercise I have become extremely stiff!! So am most thankful for this opportunity this next year to loosen up , to say nothing about the peace that Yoga can bring! Thank you !

I have lower back pain and have had overall back discomfort for over a year now immediately I felt the stretch in my lower back area. I am excited to move forward. 3 min video and I was about to sweat. Very out of shape but I am excited to change that. Great short and simple starter for a newbie.

Cues are decent but you haven't gotten your two models into a strong, dynamic position that creates space inside the body. Plus, what's the dull, lifeless look of the models? They look like mannequins. I've seen this in most of the Yogaworks videos. Lighten up! Yoga should be fun and real.

Puppy Dog

Hi, I've done yoga on and off for a decade or so. But my results have been questionable so far. With the Puppy Dog I thought, "Hummmm....I've done Downward Facing Dog a lot before, this should be easy." But yet I seem to have had pressure in my lower back and I could have sworn that my body wasn't making that nice "L" shape that the yoga instructors were making. Any advice? With thanks, -Aaron PS: I signed up for Yoga Works because I fly around the world a lot and have to get exercise in hotel rooms...and I'm trying to work on controlling high blood pressure.
