My teaching voice and fascination with the human body began in 1983 at the age of 15 teaching fitness classes at a local health club. It inspired me to study anatomy, physiology, and kinesiology in college. In 1991, I began my journey with yoga in the Iyengar tradition in Berkeley, CA, at Rodney Yee’s Piedmont Yoga Studio, and later became the Assistant Wellness Director at the Claremont Resort and Spa. It was there that my mentor, Nancy Minges, exposed me to other teachers such as Judith Hanson Lasater and Angela Farmer, and the healing work of craniosacral therapy, Feldenkrais, and Emilie Conrad’s Continuum.
My first Vipassana meditation course in 1998 in Kathmandu, Nepal, was so life changing that I have subsequently done nine more. In 2001, I became a licensed acupuncturist and herbalist, a craniosacral therapist in 2005, and am an avid meditation practitioner, all of which I bring into my teachings.
While I have studied with many inspiring yoga teachers and healers throughout California, Thailand, Bali and India, I have learned most about myself through silence in Nature and from my beautiful 7-year old daughter, Olivia. I am forever blessed and learning.
