Fitness has always been a big part of my life. From the time I could walk, I was in music and dance classes, and I soon found my way to martial arts and competitive swimming as well. Although I’d been diagnosed with severe asthma as a child, I was lucky to have parents who made sure I never felt like I couldn’t do anything I wanted to. They encouraged physical activity and made sure my siblings and I understood how important it was. Not just for the physical benefits, but for the emotional as well!
I learned that I feel the most myself when I move. I dance, I do yoga, I lift weights, I swim, I run in the mountains, skate, bike - whatever I'm in the mood for. It doesn't matter - I just move. It helps me to elevate above all the nonsense and the drama, and reach something true. I teach because I want everyone in the world to be able to feel that, to lose and find themselves all at once in a moment. To go longer and harder than they ever thought they could, and to have fun doing it.
